About the Role
This role is responsible for design, firmware development, or prototyping of electronics for the EDS, as well as experiments to help develop the EDS technology. You will work with the Sol Clarity team to write code for the firmware for the remote field testing units and assist in the circuit and PCB design for the EDS control systems and high voltage electronics. A strong background in electrical engineering and programing, as well as rapid EE prototyping is highly desired. This internship is flexible, full-time, and hybrid.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in design and implementation of the controls for the EDS field trials, including firmware development and electronic prototyping, to test the cleaning efficiency of our EDS device
Analyze test results and draw conclusions
Help firmware development on our networked cleaning and measurement system
Help develop our system operations to optimize in a variety of environments
Develop a data backend, and use tools such as Graphana and python scripts to inform design decisions
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Strong engineering background in Computer Science
Prior experience working with electronics in research or extra curricular work
Self-starter, propensity to work with minimal directions
Experience with I2C communications, RS-485 and/or high-voltage/power electronics highly desirable
